Sage Advice Saturday: Moon Juice
This week's Sage Advice Saturday is focusing on one of my favorite herbs and one of my favorite supplement companies.
I found a Moon Juice sampler by chance a few years ago and haven't looked back. In fact, when I found out they had a cookbook, I leapt at the chance to buy it.
While there's always understandable controversy when it comes to expensive herbal supplements, I think Moon Juice is worth the money.
They describe themselves as,
"...the resource for plant-sourced alchemy to nourish and elevate body, beauty and consciousness. We celebrate the unadulterated, exquisite flavors and healing force of raw vegetables, fruits, petals, herbs, roots, nuts and seaweeds as daily nourishment, beauty tools and high-powered natural remedies. Explore our organic pressed juices, Moon Milks, Cosmic Provisions, the Moon Pantry and our Moon Dust collection. We are a tangible touchstone for a community excited about a new way of living."
And even the skeptics can't deny it. One journalist actually sought the opinions of herbalism experts, and the results were resounding approval.
And what's the best way to take Moon Dust, you ask?
Well it's great mixed into tea (especially Kava) but even better as hot chocolate.
There's a recipe that comes on the info sheet in the sampler box, but this time I decided to make a lavender hot chocolate to really calm my nerves.
I mixed it with Spirit Dust and Heart Dust to get myself relaxed and ready to let go of my rough and tiring day.
To do all of this, I started by infusing the milk with lavender.
Next, I mixed in some cocoa until it dissolved--you can also do chocolate syrup or melted chocolate--and then strained the liquid into a mug.
I added the Moon Dust last to make sure none of it accidentally got strained out of the mixture. You'll want every grain of this goodness.
Just stir it in while the hot chocolate is still hot from the stove and it should mix right in (it's the same if you're mixing it into tea).
Then, finally, settle in for a pleasant and peaceful rest of your day!
