Tea Leaves Thursday: Jasmine Fairy Blooming Tea

This week's tea is a souvenir I got from someone after their trip to China. I love blooming tea and even have a special pot for it. I find it charming and peaceful how beautiful it is, so this was a perfect gift for me.

For my first taste, I decided to try the Jasmine Fairy tea. The package I got had an Oleada Rose tea and the Jasmine Fairy. I figure you can't go wrong with a good jasmine and the picture on the box and pamphlet looked absolutely lovely.

Jasmine tea is not only delicious but also high in antioxidants like many teas. It also works as a sedative, as the scent is calming.

"In a study published by the "European Journal of Applied Physiology," researchers investigated the effect of the scent of jasmine tea on mood state and autonomic nerve activity of 24 healthy volunteers. Both lavender and jasmine tea odors similarly calmed mood and significantly decreased heart rate. This calming effect is beneficial for stress-induced high blood pressure." - livestrong.com

Subtle and soothing, this made a perfect tea after a long and hectic week.
